Identifying Abuse

At the beginning of a new relationship, it can be challenging to predict future abuse. Often, individuals who later become abusive may initially seem like perfect partners. Warning signs of abuse may not manifest immediately but can surface and escalate over time. While each relationship is unique, a common element in abusive relationships is the continual use of various tactics to assert and maintain power and control at various points in the relationship.
