To empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence through trauma-informed advocacy, comprehensive support services, and community-based prevention efforts, helping individuals and families achieve safety, independence, and lives free from violence.
A community free from domestic and sexual violence, where all individuals and families experience safety, dignity, and opportunity.
The Haven is committed to preventing domestic and sexual violence through community education, outreach, and partnerships that promote healthy relationships, encourage respect, and create safer environments for all.
Since 1993, The Haven has been providing safety, advocacy, crisis response, and education to survivors of sexual assault and domestic, dating, and family violence.
We proudly serve Terrebonne, Lafourche, and Assumption parishes.
The Haven is a refuge for individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Over the years, we have provided numerous services to those in our community. In 2024 alone, we were able to serve nearly 500 families from all walks of life, offering over 9,000 nights of shelter, and 1,200 support services. We also helped 125 families with rental assistance to allow them to move into their very own safe home.
