What is Domestic Violence?

Abuse is any attempt to gain power and control over another person using physical, emotional, or sexual tactics. Find out more information from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Physical Abuse

Any behavior that is meant to cause hurt to another person's body or to control another person's physical freedom. It is any use of size, strength or presence to hurt or control someone.

Emotional Abuse

One person in the relationship tries to control the other person's feelings or thoughts in order to gain power over them. The use of words, voice, action or lack of action meant to control, hurt or demean the other person.

Sexual Abuse

Any sexual behavior meant to control, manipulate, humiliate or demean another person. Sexual assault is any unwanted contact forced by someone else.

An educational series of workshops designed to provide parents with tools for parenting children who have witnessed domestic violence.

Provides presentations, workshops, and training sessions to raise awareness and educate the community about domestic violence.

Provides civil legal remedies to survivors of domestic violence. Services include representation during protective order hearings, representation for divorce, child custody, child support, landlord/tenant issues and other civil matters that would result in survivor being freed from longer term abuse. 

Income guidelines apply.

A combination of Rapid Rehousing and Transitional Housing which provide rental assistance and support services for up to 18 months for survivors and their dependents.
